Beyond that (and taking a quick nap on Saturday and then the obligatory Sunday nap today), I was attending a Bible conference at my church led by Ed Stetzer. I had previously heard him speak at one of my church services a few years ago and I knew he was a friend of my friends Larry and Sharon. But this was the first time I had heard him in depth (or at least I paid more attention this time.) He was phenomenal- the best preacher I've ever heard in my life. (I'm only putting that because he said he was going to read my blog.) In all seriousness, the whole conference was really good- he is an excellent teacher (and funny to boot!) and I was challenged!
On Saturday afternoon, I went with him and his six year old daughter (I'm sorry his wife and other daughters missed out!!) and Larry and Sharon to the WH Garden tours (I couldn't pull strings to get him inside the building but the WH happened to have their annual Spring Garden tour- which is remarkably like their summer garden tour- this weekend.) We all had a great time except that he decided it would be cool to announce my job title and my employer to every random stranger there! :) I ended up taking a bunch of random tourists' pictures in front of the WH because I was a "professional". Too bad I think I might have cut some of their heads off in their pictures! :)

Ed has a blog too. He says that 8 people read it but somehow I think that it is a bit of an underestimate since a friend of mine from college was telling me how she read his blog. When I asked his daughter if he was famous, her reply was "Well, barely." But I'm glad I got to hear him this weekend and hang out with him, his daughter, and Larry and Sharon! I'm looking forward to reading his latest book. I now know some one officially "barely famous"! And maybe next time I'll get the whole family inside the actual WH!
