Wild Wild West

I just got back from a three day trip to the Wild Wild West. And boy was it a busy trip. Three days and multiple stops. When I woke up this morning, I felt like I had been on an international trip for two weeks, not just a 3-day tour in the Southwest. We were soooo busy with liveshots on Bush campaigning for McCain and then about Scott McClellan's new book. I didn't even have time to take many pictures and I definitely didn't have time to blog. I had every intention but as you'll be able to see, I couldn't find time to actually write about my daily experiences until today. So let's use our imaginations and pretend that I did... that's why I've broken it up in three different entries!! I'm not going to lie, it will be a commitment to read through the three days so maybe you can read a day and then take a break! Haha!!

I'm thankful for many reasons. Number one, it was a great trip. A lot of work but that's good. And everything went off without a hitch (except for the weather and very minor things). The lack of drama on the road is always a very good thing. And number two, I am truly grateful that my ears didn't hurt with all the flying. My ears hurt a lot on flights with the pressurization and this time I was flying (ascending and descending) about six times in the course of three days. Plus, I had a head cold late last week and was still fighting the symptoms of being clogged all week. Many times when flying it feels like there is a knife in my neck and ear and it's just not fun. I thought for sure at some point I would be experiencing that but praise the Lord, I had NO PAIN!! Of course since landing, my ear has become completely clogged and currently I can't hear much out of my right ear but I can handle that!! Dr. Phil has called it inner-ear dysfunction so I guess that makes me dysfunctional!! Finally number three, this might be the first trip that I didn't completely overeat. That's mainly due to the fact that I was too busy to actually eat but also for the first time ever I actually had some self-control. The only time I faulted is in Phoenix when I was craving a milkshake after lunch when I also ate a cookie and a brownie. But it was worth it. Mario at the ice cream shop at the hotel did a heck of a job. Actually the place was closed but Mario hooked me up with a milkshake anyway. Thanks Mario!

Good luck in making it through all three blog posts. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to catching up on sleep this weekend!!!
